Casa Playa Maya is a wonderful new beachfront
villa located about halfway between Tulum and Akumal, Mexico, 90
minutes south of Cancun. Located on tranquil Soliman Bay, it boasts
a private setting directly on quiet Tankah beach. Yet it is not
entirely isolated, as there are a number of neighboring houses along
the beach. Villa Casa Playa Maya is new and modern and full of sun
and light. Large sliding-glass doors lead to balconies and patios
overlooking the ocean. Sunlight streams in many large windows. Yet
the traditional Mayan architectural structure blends in to this
wonderful piece of Caribbean Mexico. This vacation rental villa
was completed in February of 1999. There is a full kitchen. There
are two bedrooms each with king size beds, and a loft with two twin
beds that can join to make a king. A/C in Bedrooms starting May 1,
2003. Maximum occupancy is six guests.
Excellent snorkeling can be found right out front of the villa
and the dive shop is just down the beach if you want to take
advantage of the great reefs found here. This area is great for
eco-tourists as Solimon Bay is great for bird watching, especially
in the large mangroves behind. Kayaks are available for use.
Oscar & Lalo's restaurant has great food for lunch or dinner and
is also very scenic with a large recreation area full of palms and a
cenote to explore. To the south on Tankah Casa Cenote is a must
do. They have great food and killer margaritas you can enjoy while
overlooking Tankah Bay or you can snorkel in Manatee Cenote which
flows directly into the bay in front. They also offer day sails on a
27' sailboat for about $40.00/person.
Other nearby attractions include Tulum with its ruins, shops and
restaurants, Xel-Ha snorkel park (Dolphin swims, etc) Dos Ojos
(cavern snorkel and cave dives), Actun-Chen (dry cave tours) and
Coba and Muyil Mayan Ruins. |
